Why are there two different types of release (order release and release for execution) for WCM-relevant orders? Are the two releases dependent on each other?
The different releases are necessary to separate the completion of planning from a maintenance point of view and a safety point of view, particularly as these usually take place at different times: Order release by maintenance can usually take place earlier, as a result of which subsequent processes such as reservation etc. can be started without having to wait for the order release by the safety department. The two releases are independent of each other.
What is blocked (and what is not blocked) if release for execution has not yet been given?
The (technical, business) completion of the order is blocked. The classic maintenance processes such as order release, printing of the shop floor papers, confirmation for operations etc. are not blocked.
